About Emerald City Ringers

Emerald City Ringers formed in October 2006 with 18 members. Our ringers have years of experience in Church Handbell choirs and Community choirs.

The ensemble rehearses on Sunday afternoons at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Bellevue, WA. We ring on 7 1/2 octaves of Malmark handbells, 6 octaves of Choirchimes, 5 octaves of Whitechapel bells, 3 octaves of Petit and Fritsen bells, and 2 octaves of Schulmerich Silver Melody Bells. We play music ranging from intermediate to advanced, and have a double-choir format, meaning we can accommodate up to 25 members. We offer two concerts per year. Our holiday concert is in December, and our spring concert is usually in May.

Our Musical Director, Brian Tervo, started ringing handbells in 1989 and began directing in 1995. He is a former member of Bells of the Sound (12 years) and the former Seattle Bell Ensemble – two nationally recognized community handbell groups in the Seattle area. Brian has been directing the handbell program at Faith Lutheran Church in Redmond, WA since the Spring of 2000, and is the Founding Director of Emerald City Ringers in October 2006.

Emerald City Ringers is a registered member of Handbell Musicians of America.
